Abstract
This paper reviews the current literature concerning surveys of drug usage at the secondary and primary school levels. It points out an increase in the number of students who claim to have used drugs or know persons who do so and that the figures of reported usage are similar to other studies conducted in the same time period. It discusses how many elementary level students are fast becoming aware of the issue of drug usage due to personal experience or from interactions with friends or siblings. It is pointed out that how the administrations of schools respond to drug usage may seriously affect the ability of the school to continue to educate.
