Abstract
Procedures for the preparation of alloys suitable for the manufacture of permanent magnets based on CeCo5and on PrCo5are described. Single phase alloys of CeCo5and PrCo5are induction melted, rapidly cooled, and then homogenized. Procedures are also given for preparing low melting cerium-rich and praseodymium-rich cobalt alloys which are used as liquid phase sintering aids in the preparation of the magnets. Keywords
