Modifications of the standard terpinyl acetate-saponin-sugar soln. baits were found to be as effective as the standard and superior to it in ease of prepn. An emulsible mixture of terpinyl acetate and a polyoxyalkylene derivative of sorbitan monolaurate (Tween 20) was prepd., dispersed in water, and added to the sugar soln. Addition of rosin residue appeared to enhance the attractiveness of the baits.
