Abstract
In 1964, The Schools Council was established for the purpose of organizing the review and reform of the school curriculum in England and Wales. An organization of teachers, local education officers, and the Department of Education and Science, the Council also provides a meeting ground between schools and universities, and it works closely with representatives of business and industry. It seeks to operate as "a free association of equal partners representing all the principal education interests."
