Abstract
The present paper reports the results obtained on normal and pancreatectomized dogs treated with an intravenous dose of an aqueous extract of Cecropia obtusifolia leaves. In both groups of animals, a significant decrease of blood glucose levels was observed, with a simultaneous increase in the concentration of triglycerides. Plasma immunoreactive insulin did not show any important modification. Keywords
