Abstract
Citro-vorum factor (CF) was more effective by parenteral than by oral admn. to 12 patients with macrocytic anemia. The rate of excretion of CF in urine following folic acid (FA) or CF admn. indicated little or no resorption of these substances in the colon. In high doses FA, but not CF, thymin or thymidin, inhibited the growth-promoting effect of vit. Bl2 on Lactobacillus leichmannii. The significance of these findings with respect to pernicious anemia is discussed. Keywords
