Abstract
The effect of treating rabbits with sulphinpyrazone on the development of sterile endocardial vegetations has been studied. This drug reduced the overall size of the vegetations compared with placebo treated animals. The relevance of these findings is discussed in respect to the possible uses of the drug in the treatment of bacterial endocarditis. Keywords
