Abstract
Induction-motor terminal equations are derived which are valid for both steady-state and dynamic analysis. The equations take into consideration harmonic fields owing to windings concentrated in slots and to the fringing produced by the slots. It is shown that, when specific harmonics are neglected, the complete model may be reduced to commonly used simplified models. The method of analysis overcomes the theoretical objections to previous harmonic analysis of machines in that the concepts of m.m.f. and permeance are not used, and a direct approximation to the two-dimensional airgap field is obtained. Keywords
