Abstract
The concept of double phase matching of a two‐step contribution to acoustically induced optical harmonic generation (AIOHG) is proposed. For plane waves the doubly phase‐matched AIOH grows as the fourth power of the crystal length. Its intensity can be 109 times as strong as that produced by single phase matching under reasonable conditions. Keywords
