Abstract
Little attention has been paid to the continuous parasternal murmur that may occur during pregnancy and that disappears after lactation. We have encountered 2 cases of this phenomenon. The murmur probably arises from arteries supplying the breast. The mechanism of its production has not been established, but it may depend on some permanent anatomic anomaly. This benign murmur has special characters by which it may be readily distinguished from significant continuous murmurs. Keywords
