Abstract
A 29-yr-old man developed recrudescent pulmonary melioidosis 9 yr after exposure in an endemic area. The illness simulated anaerobic lung abscess in its initial presentation and response to treatment. There are continuing practical problems in timely bacteriologic identification of Pseudomonas pseudomallei, the causative agent, which reinforce the necessity for awareness by clinicians of recrudescent melioidosis. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
