1. An examination of the technique of two-dimensional electrophoresis as developed by Minchin Clarke & Freeman (1968) has resulted in improvements for its routine use. 2. These include the use of smaller plates, a re-designed modular electrophoresis tank and modifications in the method of preparing the plates and in the process of running the electrophoresis.
