Abstract
In polar semiconductors conduction electrons can gain or lose both energy and momentum to the lattice by interacting with the polar modes of lattice vibrations. A simple method of calculating the average rate of momentum loss by the electrons is proposed for the case where the lattice may be treated as an infinite heat bath and where the energy and momentum distribution of the electrons is known. Keywords
