Abstract
As a consequence of the reduced race of gas exchange with the atmosphere and the lower oxygen supply to microorganisms, the partial pressure of carbon dioxide and the concentration of organic acids increase with the decomposition of organic substances much more in submerged than in upland soils (1, 2).Keywords
