Abstract
Instances of the deleterious effect of “mastitis” on milk for cheese-making have been recorded over a considerable period. Until recently it was neither possible to define what was meant by mastitis nor to consider it in its chemical and bacteriological aspects. Many of the early reports must therefore be accepted with caution, a point emphasized in a review by Davis & Mattick(1).Keywords
