A Method for the Control and Measurement of Wire Temperature in Preparatory Anneals on Standard Pt/Pt-10Rh Thermocouples

Abstract
An electric wire annealing arrangement for standard thermocouples is described that incorporates 60 Hz electric current heating with simultaneous measurement and control of the wire temperature to ±10°C in the range 0–1450°C derived from the dc thermal emf (with ice reference) generated in the thermocouple.
