Design and Comparative Efficiency of a Wind-Oriented Trap for Capturing Live Heliothis Spp.123

Abstract
In tests comparing the efficiency of a wind-oriented (WO) sex pheromone trap designed to capture live males of the tobacco budworm, Heliothis virescens (F.), and corn earworm, H. zea (Boddie) with other trap designs, the WO trap captured 40%of the males responding. This efficiency approached that of the electricgrid trap and was significantly more efficient than any non-electric trap studied.
