Abstract
A method for the assay of human chorionic gonadotrophins from urine and serum was described which used the straight line relationship between the logarithm of the dose and response of the immature rat uterus. Applying the exptl. design of Bliss (1944), it was found that 20 animals (10 on the standard and 10 on the unknown) will permit detn. of the potency ratio of urinary material with an accuracy of[long dash]25 to + 36% when P = 0.95, and of serum gonadotrophin with a lower error range. Increasing the number of animals to 40 further decreased the error range. Keywords
