Abstract
Esters of very long chain fatty acids with benzyl alcohol and the homologue 2-phenyl-ethanol-1 were found in the epicuticular waxes from Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) leaves. The isolation of these esters by chromatographic methods, the structural elucidation by GC-MS and their chemical reactions and synthesis are described. Keywords
