Abstract
The theory of defects in antiferromagnetic insulators is applied to the perovskite structure and the Green functions calculated. The conditions imposed by symmetry on the interaction of light with such defects are also investigated. A comparison is made with experiments on Eu3+ and Ni2+ impurities in KMnF3 and RbMnF3.Keywords
