THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS DEGREES OF ANOXIC ANOXIA ON WATER DISTRIBUTION IN THE BODY

Abstract
The water content of the cerebrum, kidney, muscle, skin and adrenal glands was detd. in 88 rats exposed 31/2.hr. to simulated altitudes of 8,000, 18,000 and 28,000 ft., and in 84 control rats. Although at each elevation the rats lost significantly more wt. than the controls, comparison of the water contents of the same tissues in the 2 groups revealed no consistent differences.
