Abstract
Hologrophy, as a technique for recording small high velocity particles or droplets, offers a considerable advantage over conventional photographic techniques. The application of the technique, using both single and multi beam systems, to entrained water sprays moving at typical velocities up to 70 m/second and electric arc welding sprays are discussed and results illustrated. Theoretical considerations are briefly discussed, various “Q” switching, spatial filtering techniques and laser requirements are considered. Keywords
