Abstract
Five unilaterally-labyrinthectomized female subjects were exposed to rotation in either direction in the horizontal plane at speeds of 1-10 rpm. Direction of turning did not significantly influence duration of the oculogyral illusion or sensations of apparent turning. The results indicate that Ewald''s Law of max. sensitivity of the horizontal canals to ampullopetal flow of the endolymph does not hold for man. Keywords
