Abstract
Electron scattering from a potential in the presence of a classical, monochromatic, spatially homogeneous radiation field is considered. A coupled integral equations method is formulated to calculate the cross section for stimulated photon emission or absorption. This method is applicable for field strengths such that the difference between the instantaneous velocity and the cycle-average velocity of the electron is not too large. The method has been applied to the case of a separable potential, and some results are presented. Keywords
