Anti-Acetylcholine Receptor IgG in Neonatal Myasthenia Gravis

Abstract
To the Editor: Recently we observed a 2940-g female baby with neonatal myasthenia gravis who was delivered at full term from a 30-year-old primiparous Japanese woman who had had generalized myasthenia gravis for two years. Several hours after birth the baby exhibited hypotonia, lack of facial expression, a weak cry and feeble limb movements. Diagnosis was made by the effect of neostigmine methylsulfate. The signs and symptoms subsided three weeks after birth and thereafter she developed normally.
