RNA-INDUCED BIOSYNTHESIS OF SPECIFIC ENZYMES

Abstract
Studies on the RNA-induced biosynthesis of specific protein have been carried out. The type of specific protein synthesized by the RNA recipient cells related directly to the tissue source of RNA. Thus, liver RNA-treated Nelson ascites, Ehrlich ascites, and Novikoff hepatoma cells acquire the biochemical specificity of producing such liver specific proteins (enzymes) as serum albumin, tryptophan pyrrolase, and glucose-6-phosphatase.
