Abstract
This paper discusses the nature of energy-coupling sites in the respiratory chain and examines the components essential to energy-conservation at Site I, the 1st coupling site of oxidative phosphorylation. Mitochondria were prepared from rat liver and kidney, pigeon heart, beef heart, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. S. carlsbergensis, and Torulopsis utilis. This publication has 28 references indexed in Scilit:
