Flavoproteins of the mitochondrial respiratory chain.

Abstract
This paper discusses the nature of energy-coupling sites in the respiratory chain and examines the components essential to energy-conservation at Site I, the 1st coupling site of oxidative phosphorylation. Mitochondria were prepared from rat liver and kidney, pigeon heart, beef heart, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. S. carlsbergensis, and Torulopsis utilis.
