Abstract
Summary The45Sc level scheme has been studied by the45Sc(p, p’γ) reaction at various bombarding energies between 1.8 and 4.5 MeV. Gamma and particle, single and coincident spectra have been observed deducing branching ratios of various levels and indications on spin and parity. Some spins and parities have been definitely fixed by means of electron conversion coefficient measurements and by Coulomb excitation with α-particles. Namely levels at 543 (5/2), 938 (1/2), 974 (7/2), 1303 (3/2), 1433 (9/2) and probably 2031 (11/2) appear to have positive parity. The corresponding sequence is typical of rotational bands based upon the 1d 3/2 and 2s 1/2 proton-hole excitation. Keywords
