Abstract
This article describes three predictable and sequential phases that represent a normal cycle of emotional responses by victims of sexual assault: (1) acute reaction, (2) outward adjustment, and (3) integration and resolution of the experience. A series of interventions was developed to help patients work through each phase as smoothly as possible. Keywords
