Abstract
A liquid helium cryostat and associated equipment to measure the lattice parameter of low temperature neutron irradiated materials is described. The cryostat is designed so that the irradiated capsule is a demountable sub‐assembly of the helium chamber. The capsule, a small vacuum insulated Dewar, can be irradiated in a liquid helium environment and transferred to the cryostat system for measurement without intermediate warmup above 4.2 K.Keywords
