Abstract
• Naloxone hydrochloride, an opiate antagonist, was given to six parkinsonian patients suffering from the "on-off" phenomenon. Although the drug does not modify the cardinal symptoms of parkinsonism, it reduces dyskinetic movements and the length of the rigid phase. There may be an interaction of opiate receptors with the different neurotransmitter systems involved in the on-off syndrome. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
