Abstract
An iterative procedure, especially suited for high-speed computing machines, is presented for calculating the chi-square statistic to be used in testing the no interaction hypothesis in a three way contingency table. In essence, the procedure is designed to solve the systems of simultaneous third-degree equations which result from the constraints imposed by the null hypothesis. The computational technique is demonstrated by its application to a set of biological data. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
