Abstract
The anthocyanins in petals of the tulip varieties Smiling Queen and Pride of Haarlem were isolated and identified by chromatographic and spec-trophotometric methods. The petal tissue of the variety Smiling Queen contained cyanidin-3-glucoside (chrysanthemin), cyanidin-3-rhamno-glucoside (antirrhinin), pelargonidin-3-glucoside (callistephin) and pelagronidin-3-rhamnoglucoside. The petals of the variety Pride of Haarlem contained the 4 anthocyanins found in the petals of the variety Smiling Queen and delphinidin-3-rhamnoglucoside.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
