Abstract
Feeding tests were performed with a woman 37 yrs. old who has suffered from perennial asthma for 11 yrs., as follows: 1 test with corn meal mush, 3 with corn starch pudding, 3 with arrowroot pudding, 2 with tapioca, 1 with peanut oil, 1 with potato starch, 2 with corn oil and 2 with corn syrup. The corn meal mush, the corn starch and tapioca were regarded as allergenic offenders. Ingestion of corn oil and corn syrup did not produce allergic manifestations. Seven individuals were each sensitized with the blood serum of the subject. Feeding tests and direct testing of sensitized sites failed to disclose evidence of a specific reagin for corn meal. Keywords
