Abstract
Today, industrial enterprises are facing a large number of demands from the market, technology, legislation and society. The major aspects of these influences and their effects will be described in this contribution. Using examples from the most varied areas of an enterprise and the tasks to be performed, an attempt is made to point out the path to the factory of the future. Keywords
