Über die Spaltbarkeit von Tuberkelfett durch Lipasen. II. Mitteilung.

Abstract
Horse serum slowly hydrolyzed the acetone soluble lipoid fraction of tubercle bacillus wax. Human serum which hydrolyzed tributyrin was almost without action on the above fraction. No obvious relation was found between lipase content of the blood and course of tuberculosis. Lipase prepared from hog pancreas, hydrolyzed the acetone soluble fat of the tubercle bacillus. Hog liver lipase acted feebly, there was almost no hydrolysis when an extract of wax moth was used. There was strong acid production when entire hemolyzed blood acted on tubercle fat. This was attributed to leucocyte lipase which probably accounted for whatever capacity the blood lipases had of hydrolyzing lipoids in the cell wall of tubercle bacillus.
