Abstract
A method of treating an acute coronary occlusion by the use of vasodilating and antifibrillatory drugs has been investigated experimentally in dogs. The clinical application of a long acting nitrate compound to the immediate postmyocardial infarction state in humans has also been tried with good tolerance to the drug. These results are preliminary and further evaluation will be needed before the exact therapeutic potential of these methods can be assessed. Keywords
