Abstract
With the formalism of differential geometry, implemented in modern computer graphics, mathematical structures have been developed which provide the underlying geometry for an increasing range of real structures more general than crystals and occurring both in biology and in materials science. In particular the triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) are examined. Keywords
