Abstract
In female rats daily isoproterenol injections (0.3 mg/kg) produced a 40% myocardial growth within 10 days. Of the total growth, .apprx. 75% was associated with increased muscle fiber size. The number of nuclei in muscle tissue was not affected, while the nuclear population in the interstitial tissue was significantly increased.
