Abstract
The Brillouin spectra of n‐dodecane, n‐hexadecane, n‐docosane, n‐octacosane, and n‐hexatriacontane are studied as a function of temperature. The Brillouin linewidths increase monotonically as the liquids are cooled toward the freezing point. The results are analyzed quantitatively in terms of frequency‐dependent volume and shear viscosities. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
