Abstract
We have been investigating the effects of electric fields on for temperatures in the range from 1.6 to 50 K. Measurements of the electric-field-induced strain show a clear signature with increasing field of a crossover from electrostrictive to piezoelectric behavior. The strain versus voltage data scale to a single curve, which we interpret as evidence for a quantum phase transition. The coefficient of electrostriction appears to diverge as , further suggestive of a phase transition.
