Abstract
The authors present an overview of advances in three areas including software radio, adaptive antenna technology, and high-temperature superconductivity as currently envisioned for use in advanced cellular base stations. The conclusion broadly drawn is that the advancement in DSP and ASIC technologies will provide the major contribution in making these technologies technically and commercially realisticKeywords
