Abstract
Adrenal hyperactivity, manifested by an increased rate of excretion of urinary corticosteroids, was observed to occur in 6 patients with diabetic acidosis. There appeared to be a direct correlation between the severity of the acidosis and the rate of corticosteroid excretion. Serial measurements of the eosinophil count and of corticosteroid excretion after exptl. withdrawal of insulin from a diabetic patient showed that gross adrenal hyperactivity is a comparatively late phenomenon of diabetic acidosis resulting from insulin omission. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
