CHROMOBLASTOMYCOSIS

Abstract
THE FIRST case of chromoblastomycosis in the United States was reported by Medlar1 and by Lane,2 who discussed it from different points of view. This case was found in Massachusetts. A few additional cases from North America have been added to the literature. Reports include one case by Wilson, Hulsey, and Weidman,3 from Texas, in 1933; one by Martin, Baker, and Conant,4 from North Carolina, in 1936; one by Moore and Mapother,5 from Missouri, in 1940; one by Emmons, Hailey, and Hailey,6 from Georgia, in 1941; one by Weidman and Rosenthal,7 from Pennsylvania, in 1941; two by Moore, Cooper, and Weiss,8 from Missouri in 1943; one by Binford, Hess, and Emmons,9 from Georgia, in 1944, and one by Mundt and Moore,10 from Louisiana, in 1947-1948.
