Abstract
The clotting time and pro-thrombin utilization of hemophilic plasma is improved, in vitro, by the addition of cephalin complex. In vivo, in hemophilia, the utilization of prothrombin during clotting was enhanced, but bleeding manifestations were not improved. In 2 patients with deficiency of plasma thrombo-plastin component, the hemorrhagic manifestations were made more severe, with prolongation of the bleeding time and no improvement in the utilization of prothrombin during clotting. Keywords
