Abstract
The understanding, prediction, and control of smoking behavior Department of is a problem of major significance for the behavioral sciences. Counseling and In the United States alone, over $8 billion is spent each year Behavioral Studies on tobacco, and consumption is continually rising (Weaver, Unisersity of 1962). Over half of the adult male population and one out of Wisconsin every four females habitually smoke tobacco. Each year over one and one-half million young people start smoking. Smoking as a prominent behavioral characteristic challenges the behavioral scientist for explanation.Keywords
