Abstract
This paper has first presented an in-depth analysis on the distributed coordination function (DCF) access mode of IEEE802.11 protocol. Based on the result of our study, we have concluded a new self-adapt wireless LAN MAC algorithm. Numerous simulation results have shown that the new algorithm can achieve the self-adapt character with the growing of node number and is superior to the original DCF algorithm in the characters concerned (e.g. throughput, fairness). Keywords
