Spending time with the news media: The relationship between reliance and use

Abstract
The relationship between media reliance and actual use was examined by conducting a survey of working women. The television reliant did tend to spend more time with television news than with other media, as did the newspaper reliant with newspapers. The radio reliant, however, did not spend more time with radio, suggesting radio to be a more complementary medium. Regardless of the medium most relied on, the time spent with all news media was the same.
