Abstract
Studies of various forms of double artificial ventricular parasystole were presented chiefly to indicate their usefulness in obtaining fundamental information in cardiac electrophysiology. Ventricular excitability was studied either by the simultaneous use of an implanted and transvenous pacemaker, or through a single bipolar catheter connected to 2 artificial pacemakers. The undesirable changes in rate which occur with other techniques, where an independent sino-atrial pacemaker co-exists with an artificial parasystole are avoided. Repetitive firing of single impulses falling at the beginning of the relative refractory period was noted in 1 case. Intraventricular conduction time was analyzed using 3 methods. There was close agreement in the results in all 3.This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
