Abstract
It is shown experimentally and theoretically that longitudinal magnetoelastic waves can be excited with an efficiency comparable to that of transverse magnetoelastic waves in an axially magnetized YIG rod whose axis is appropriately oriented relative to the crystallographic axes. In conjunction with a thin film piezoelectric longitudinal‐wave transducer this could form the basis of a useful two‐port device. This publication has 22 references indexed in Scilit:
